Empire Bingo is located in the Hawes Side area of Blackpool, a good mile or so from the centre of Blackpool. It is more of a social club than a national chain bingo hall and it remains popular with the locals for this very reason to the day. Taking residence in the old Empire Cinema which dates back as far as 1929 (and closed in 1959) the bingo and social club has a very local feel to it and is welcoming of all new players.
There is a small car park for visitors and you will also find excellent bus links on Hawes Side Lane (B5261) with a stop right outside the club at Powell Avenue. Bus routes 17, 401 and 688 all service the area frequently. For those driving there is additional street parking should the car park become full.
There is an arcade area to complement the daily bingo games and you will find these quite well used and full of the latest and greatest slot machines. The bingo hall is spacious and comfortable and is a refreshing change from the bright lights and carpets of Gala and Mecca clubs with a working man’s club feel.
The drinks and food are of good quality and are cheaply priced in comparison to most bingo halls. The price of bingo is also relatively cheap – so check out the prices section for more on that.
Empire Blackpool has split opening times with the club being open from 11am – 2.45pm on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the afternoon sessions and from 5pm to 10pm daily for the evening sessions.
Empire Blackpool prices are very reasonable with main session afternoon prices from just £6.50 during the week and £7 at weekends. Evening prices are from £5.50 on Thursday and Sunday and £8.50 every other day of the week.On top of these already low prices you can play many other games for just £1 or £1.50 and there are also special offers that give you £5 session prices every now and again. Check the Facebook page for details.
